The news is out JB#94 will remain with us but as the new SINZ Elite rider for 2012!

As you all know, James 94 Brown from Alberta is chasing his dream in 2012 of being part of the next Olympic Games in London and representing Canada!! He’s trying to become part of that limited group of athletes that have made it to world elite status. Jim is the perfect athlete to work with; always smiling, respec...tful, motivated and very very professional. We really hope he qualifies for a spot and achieve is dream … The coming season will be busy and demanding for any athletes that his racing against the clock for the August deadline, lots of training, racing and travel is on Jims calendar.

James was looking for additional support for his 2012 season, so he’ll still be working with us by being the new SINZ ELITE pro rider for Canada, but will be running under new colors for 2012. As being a BMX race Distributor in Canada … the support and resources are limited for us, so joining a Bike company was the perfect fit for him. As you all probably know by now, YESS is a Canadian manufacturing company making its comeback on the scene, our relation with Renny and Bill goes way back as Intense/Fly TM Melanie Desrochers was representing Yess and running their fork back in 98-99, they are both great guys and we’re sure Jimmy will be in good hands!

Jimmy will be rocking the best parts available with the new SINZ ELITE fork, crank and wheels for 2012!! Look for SINZ ELITE logo on his plate, frame & jersey. We will continue to update races results on him as the Canadian SINZ ELITE Rider!

Here is Jimmy words:
“I feel like it was a great year with the Intense/FLY National team, Dylan and Mel have been great to me and I wish you and the rest of the team the best of luck In the future, and thank you guys for all of the support you gave me this year! Thanks again for being such a great sponsor!“

After many years, Amelia Walsh will be leaving the team in good terms.

Amelia Walsh, from Ontario is an awesome racer and has been part of the family for a long time now! Amelia is racing the Elite classes and as been getting great results on the Canadian scene.

Amelia is also part of Ontario’s Quest for Gold program and she needed to wear their jersey at some selected events witch as been creat...ing some stress on both Amelia and Jagger Co. in the past. This program is by far the best for her and a lot better then any support we can offer her, BUT it still remains that on our team riders need to wear our Jersey and team colors.

As a Canadian Distributor we can only sell to Canadian retailers/shops. Among that tons of riders are buying online witch doesn’t help at all when it comes to giving back to the scene. Support your industry if you want them to support you …. SO as a distributor it is ESSENTIEL that our riders wear their team colors at all events so that the brands we distribute can be seen in our Country …

On the other hand for exemple, as a Bike factory the priority is to have a maximum of good riders running your products and not as much your jersey, although its way cool to have good riders sporting your colors, it doesn’t matter from witch country or team they are as long as they are running your bike/products in a professional matter, jersey or not, it come back directly to you ...

So we would of LOVE to signed back Amelia on our team but this situation needed to be addressed. We wish Amelia and her parents Cathy and Gary, witch always supported her to the max, the best for the upcoming years!

Here are Amelia words:
“It has been a pleasure working with you guys over the past few years. You and Mel have definately been a part of where I am at in the sport today and I really appreciate it”

Year end awards / Mérite Cycliste!

Fall is this time of the year where Federation are doing their annual award ceremony, and 2 of our Intense/Fly Team riders received recognition! Amelia Walsh from Ontario received the Tim DaSilva BMX Athlete of Year and Michael Beaudoin gets the athlete of the year given by the FQSC.

Amelia

Every year the Ontario Cycling Association recognizes "The Athletes of the Year” throughout all disciplines of cycling. Amelia Walsh won the Tim DaSilva BMX Athlete of Year.  This award is awarded to the athlete that demonstrates hard work and determination throughout the season. Tim DaSilva passed away while building a race track for the families of Halton Region. To be honoured with this award is outstanding. Tim's legacy will live forever with this award, as he will always live in our hearts. Congrats Amelia!

Michael

Resume of the last Pepsi-Pro-AM 2011 with 4 of our Krusher riders

After great runs in qualifications for our Krusher guys at the Pepsi Pro-Am held at the Taz in Montreal, final runs was a bit harder. As we previously post, JF got a very impressive and nice 1st place in qualifying in front of really good riders, Steven got 3rd and Vincent 4th!!

In the final, J-F manage to landed his pedal 270 out of the 10’’ Pepsi wall and a big front over the... box for a 5th place finish and a fat cheque! Steven pull great tricks but his run didn’t go as well as in qualifying and he finally gets the 7th spot, but there will be plenty of contests for Steven in the up coming winter months and we’ll keep you posted on his results! As for Mr. Paquin, he took the 8th place, but would have definitely hit top five if some of his massive tricks were landed; he was really impressive as he landed some of those huge tricks during the day!

Finally, it was a crazy day for our friend Andre Postell from the US; Andre had a real hard time getting in Montreal; traveling/custom/traffic/getting lost lol etc and seriously he came in 2 min before his qualifying run … He didn’t have time to practice or ride a lot in his heat and to top it off, while trying a front flip he broke his brake lever and had to pull out from his run … Still, he had the chance to show what he’s got in the final and he retried his front flip ending up with half of his pedal broke lol … Crowed was pumped and wanted to see more, so he finally try it again and landed it!! That was it for him after that crazy day!

Thank for the great weekend guys!!

Our Intense/Fly National Team at the 2011 National championship!!

CLICK HERE TO SEE THIS PRESS RELEASE ON FASTLANEBMXMAG.COM

Mid August was the Canadian National Championship held near Quebec City and 5 members of Intense/Fly National Team where in attendance!! Canada is a big country and our riders are spread around the territory witch makes it’s hard to have all of them together at the same events, but this one is a classic and the team got the chance to spend some good time!!

In the Elite class, Michael Beaudoin, Quebec  and Amelia Walsh, Ontario as well as defending champion, #94 Jim Brown from Alberta  were there. In Junior men, Corey Walsh from Ontario was ready to rock as well! Finally our latest addition and rising star, 9X, James Hedgcock, Ontario who was living the Factory Team experience for the first time, was in the house to defend his 2010 title!! 15X, Kyle Murphy, BC and last year gold medalist in both Class and Cruiser unfortunately wasn’t able to attend the event.

Allright let start the action with the Pro class!! Our Elite rider Jim Brown was more then ready for this race, had tons of high level racing behind him from his 2011 season and was defending his 2010 title! The time trial was an official event this year and Jim got a nice second place! Jim had a new rival for this season as his friend Tory Nyhaug was moving up to the Elite Class … Jim performed at is very best and showed very solid runs by beating the young and fast Connor McCormack in each lap and got a perfect for the day in his motos. In the main event after a great start, he had no choice but to fallow his teammate of the National Team Tory, for the 2nd place, congrats!

// CLCK ON THE PICTURE TO SEE FULL SIZE //

As for Michael Beaudoin, Elite Men, he was performing in front of his home crowd and work hard all year long in order to be prepared for this race. He handled the local pressure very well and came with no expectation but to have fun! Mick started the week-end by a solid and surprising performance in Time Trial by leading the pack till the final 3 riders, witch was the entire Team Canada ; Connor, Jim and Tory. He had to give his spot on the “hot seat’’ to these guys, but took a nice 4th place among some of the best Canadian racers! His bright performance of friday night, gave Mike even more confidence for Saturday’s race. Mick got 2nd in most of his motos and choose an outside lane in the main hoping for less traffic, but it played a bit against him. He tried a move on Patridge in the second berm, but it slowed his entire speed for the pro section, and ended up crossing the finish line in 6th place!

Amelia Walsh, Elite Women, had a very good lap in Time Trial on Friday and she was in the “hot seat” until the last rider showed up at the gate … and she ended the day with a nice 2nd place! Race day, Mel was jumping most of the jumps on the track and had good FSP. She fought hard all day in motos with Millman and Martin both from out west and despite a good crash in her second moto she was ready for the main. In the final, she had her best start of the day and was fighting for 1st place, but her front wheel gave up on her … and disaster struck, she crash, she still managed to get up and catch up to a few riders for a 5th place, she’ll be back!

// CLCK ON THE PICTURE TO SEE FULL SIZE //

It was Corey Walsh first year as a Junior Men. Corey is one of the most technical rider we have work with in years, both in race or street … He started the week-end well by taking the Time trial title in Junior Men, good job! After winning two motos he was ready to repeat his Friday night performance. This track was hard to catch up while Corey is a specialist of big jumps and swoops, but still needs to work on his FSP. In the main he banged a few bars in the first straight and couldn’t take the lead, but he still managed to take 3rd place and stand on the podium, Congrats! Corey his planning some Supercross Races in the near future and he’ll be one to watch as his jumping skills are amazing!!

We kept the best for the end …!! Our newbie is one of a kind, sometimes you’re not sure about your pick, but there is no doubt about this one!! James Hedgcock, 9X is one name to remember! He started by dominating his class in provincial racing, then in Eastern Canada, shortly after it was across the country and now the ‘‘Beast’’ is boosting great results in all the majors Nationals in the US! James was in Quebec City to show that his 2010 title was no fluke and went on to destroy his competition by jumping every single jump on the track and perfected the day, even wining some race by a full straight. He remains the National Champion for 2011!! CONGRATS!
